I am a portrait photographer and Photoshop painting artist located in Bellevue, Kentucky, just across the river from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.  I specialize in professional headshots, classic portraiture, and pet portraits, including mixed media painted portraits.  I also photograph some events.

I continue to challenge myself to improve my photography.  While initially self-taught, since 2011 I have studied photography formally through classes, mentor programs, conferences, and workshops, having earned the designation of Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) and the Master of Photography, Master Artist, and Photographic Craftsman degrees through the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).  I also serve on several committees in the American Society of Photographers (ASP). 

My images have won awards at the state, district, and international level.  Several of my images have been published, including in two Capture Cincinnati books and in the World Choir Games commemorative book.  Since 2014, I have received gold, silver, and bronze medals in the International Photographic Competition, sponsored by PPA, plus four Kodak, Fuji, or CPP Awards, and a bronze medal in the International Pet Photographer of the Year awards.  In 2024 I received the State Elite Award from the ASP for the highest-scoring image in my state image competition. Most recently, I received the Imaging Excellence Medallion from PPA, having earned thirteen images with that designation.

Outside of photography, I am a classically-trained musician, having spent most of my first career as a middle school music teacher.  I play French horn in several local community ensembles and was a member of the Christ Church Cathedral Choir in Cincinnati for many years.  I also am active in several other ministries at the cathedral.

While I there have been as many as five Pomeranians in my family at one time, currently I have two rescues--Auggie--a big, sweet Mama's boy, now 11, who has been with me since he was a pup, and Leia, seven years old, an inquisitive little gal who, being a puppy mill rescue, is a little skittish but also somewhat of a diva!
